Tui Gaan Ga by Arnab.

Today I found a very very beautiful song. Actually I discovered the song again after a long time. The name of the song is "Tui gaan ga" sang by Arnab. I got the song in 2004 while I was doing my Masters at IIT Guwahati. One of my friend Ayan gifted me(with some other song) the song just by saying that these are a collection made by one of his friend sang by some of the Santiniketan Fine Arts students. at that time I disn't know Arnab. Today Youtube help me to rediscover the song again. Now I know that the album is from a band group called "Bangla" and some of the group members are related to Santiniketan also. But any way I like Anusha and Arnab

How to install TeXLive to replace teTeX on F8

Copy texlive.repo to your /etc/yum.repos.d/, it can be downloaded from:

http://people.redhat.com/jnovy/files/texlive/texlive.repo

then:

yum install texlive texlive-latex

This will install TeXLive with TeX and LaTeX support.

In case teTeX is already installed on your system and you want to update it to TeXLive, just type:

yum update

And teTeX will be updated to TeXLive.

Note that an upgrade path is not guaranteed to be saved in F8 so if you encounter any problem in your current TeX Live installation after upgrade, please yum remove texlive and reinstall it again. It should solve most of the problems. Interim dvipdfmx may also be problematic, if so yum remove dvipdfmx and reinstall should be enough.

Resolving the font problem in EMACS :

issue the 'xlsfonts | grep courier' in the terminal ans it will list all the possible x-fonts. then from there you can select the possible font and add a line

(set-default-font "your-font-name")

to the .emacs (or .gnu-emacs-custom) file. then restart the emacs session and you can see the effect. e.g. I used the following font name in my .gnu-emacs-custom file.

(set-default-font "-adobe-courier-medium-r-normal--12-120-75-75-m-70-iso10646-1")

Schoekel

Its one of my favorite places around Graz. Can be said as true 'love at first site'. I have visited so many times!!! Its only 30mins away from Graz. The first thing that I loved about the place is that you can see and feel the curvature of the earth and of course simultaneously the sky!!! When you see Schoekel from a distance place it seems a big nice totally green giant has just come out of earth!!! The height of Schoekel 1445 Meter. In one side you see the whole range of Alps and on the other side nice green valley .... ohhh its real fantastic.

Venice

So last week was another great experience for me: it was now Venice. A very unique city. No car: only boat!!!! Taxy==Boat!!! Interesting. Which is why the city is completely filled up with tourist and I sure this is true through out the year!!! Such a situation is very peculiar to me: sometimes I find that it is very lively : lots of people around so always you can see new people from new places and you can learn lots of behavioral attitudes from them while walking with them. But simultaneously I feel sometimes that ohhh its too conjusted : i can't enjoy the places. You cant just feel smell touch the places!!! you get disturbed by others. And this is quite true in Venice. The roads a narrow: rather indeed there is no road in that sense: in a sense those are just corridors from one building to an other. But I guess this is the specialty of Venice. One more remarkable finding about Venice is that there is no big trees available in the whole city. but ofcourse one can imagine that for a city like venice which is just build up over the sea one should not expect to find trees: the whole city is floating over the water!!!! The place named 'Piazza San Marco' is absolutely marvelous. I have uploaded some of the pictures of Venezia on my Flickr page. you can just have a look at the pictures and fall in love with the nice small very beautiful cute city!!!!

Salzburg

So here is again another marvelous visit to Salzburg: the tourist capital of Austria. The birth place of Mozart. The city indeed a very beautiful city worth to visit once again. the view form the 'Mirabell Palace' towards the 'Salzburg Cathedral' and finally the 'Salzburg Fortress' is absolutely unforgettable. Wien - Agra

Last week end I visited Wien. I was completely amazed by the places I have seen!!!
Great European architecture - oh my god (my mistake I do not believe on god). It was such an experience that right now I don't have any words to explain my feelings. I have not seen all places rather only main city district - can be told like - OLD WIEN.

As I explored the places I felt like Wien: another great city I have ever seen. When I see the majestic Buildings with brilliant ancient European architecture - It felt like the kings of the past would just come out of the palace and go on a very nice horse curt through the roads that still bears the signature of their greatness .........

But most important thing that I learned is totally different from this. let me tell you. I was explaining my feeling to Hennig (my research guide). I told him like "when I see the palaces then I feel like : The kings of past are still there, at any time I can see that one fellow soldier has just crossed me in rush riding a horse ......., there is a guard looking at me and astonished by my dressing...... " Then Hennig tells me that exactly such feelings he had when he was visiting Agra, Fatehpur-Sikri .... and here is what I learned ......... his such feelings reassured that in all way our history is also as great as all other society ... three 'prost' for being an Indian .... enjoy ......
